ChromaZones are results oriented color forecasting workshops. They are fast paced and energetic with attendees presenting and discussing their colors and stories. As the day progresses, the colors will be narrowed to a final Color Forecast which is distributed in digital format with notations (view a sample forecast) to each participants so that you can work on them immediately.
The information gathered from each ChromaZone will become part of the broader color work that takes place during CMG's annual International Summit being held at the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa, Rancho Mirage, California, November 7 - 10. Here you will see the comparisons of all of the ChromaZone meetings in North America AND hear full presentations from Asia/Pacific, Europe and Latin America. Color tools from these international meetings will be distributed only at the North American International Summit. The KEY colors from each ChromaZone will also be distributed in digital format, as well as the final North American Color Forecast.
You do NOT need to be a member of CMG to participate in a ChromaZone. ChromaZone events are open to current and former CMG members or color professionals involved in color forecasting. We also invite members of related professional organizations, education and media. Simply complete the ChromaZone Registration form and return it to sgriffis@colormarketing.org.

CHROMAZONE FAQ’S
What is a ChromaZone meeting?
ChromaZones are results oriented color forecasting workshops. For CMG members familiar with the Color Workshops, then you could think of it as a local CMG speed meeting!
What happens at a ChromaZone meeting?
The meetings will have a color workshop and many ChromaZones have a local guest presenting myriad subjects from design to marketing to business. It is fast paced and energetic. Attendees will present and discuss their colors and stories and as the day progresses, the colors will be narrowed to a final color forecast.
What is the difference between a ChromaZone Workshop and the CMG International Summit?
The information gathered from ChromaZone Workshops will become part of the broader color work that takes place during the North American International summit.
How does the ChromaZone forecast fit into the normal CMG International Summit?
The color deemed most important from each ChromaZone will move on to the final steering process held during the International Summit and will become part of the national North American forecast. The distinction in the information will help members cue their color offerings more specifically to key regions in North America. For CMG members, all the ChromaZone color forecasts are distributed in February, following the year the ChromaZone took place.
How often are ChromaZones held?
A full listing of CMG’s Summit, International Meetings, and ChromaZones events can be downloaded from the CMG web site.
Where are ChromaZones held?
The locations vary around North America and Canada, and abroad. We are attempting to time ChromaZones to coincide with major design exhibitions such as NeoCon in Chicago and ICFF in New York. This allows you to pack even more color information and networking into one trip.
Am I qualified to participate?
ChromaZones welcome participants working in color design or color marketing, educators, students, media and members of related professional organizations. It is not necessary to be a CMG member to register and participate.
What do I need to plan, think about, and prepare for the ChromaZone?
Participants are encouraged to complete a ChromaZone Worksheet in advance of the meeting. Worksheets can be downloaded from the CMG web site or from sgriffis@colormarketing.org. The Worksheet gives an overview of what you need to plan, think about, and prepare in advance of the meeting.
Is the ChromaZone color forecast a regional forecast?
ChromaZone participants will create regionally biased color forecasts with an eye on the bigger picture. For those working on national campaigns, this is the opportunity to see the subtle nuances that may occur regionally.
Will the ChromaZone meeting cover both NOW and NEXT colors similar to the International Conference?
NOW colors are always part of the discussion that help direct colors to NEXT; the focus, however, is discerning the movement of colors within various parts of North America.
I do not work in that region but would still like to attend the ChromaZone. Can I do this?
You are welcome at any and all ChromaZone meetings. Learning what works in other regions will help you hone your product and marketing colors and ideas and can help you expand into other markets with confidence.
What are the benefits of attending a ChromaZone?
-
- Gaining focused color knowledge in your region, or the region in which you’d like to be
- An intimate workshop experience with extreme local networking, get to know even more people who "get it."
- The potential of bringing more people from your office, school or other professional organizations
- Maintain the CMG color experience
- Lower your travel expenses. (When possible ChromaZones will occur during major exhibitions; often attended by many members)
Will I receive a printed color card showing the forecast colors from the ChromaZone?
ChromaZone palettes will be available in digital format with notations so that you can work on them immediately. A written report is also available to "tell" each color story.
If I participate in a ChromaZone do I need to come to the International Summit?
YES! There is no substitution for the energy, information and networking of the International Summit. You will see the comparisons of all of the ChromaZone meetings in North America AND hear full presentations from Asia/Pacific, Europe and Latin America. Also, color tools from the international meetings will be distributed only at the North American International Summit. Participants also receive a digital color card with the key colors from each ChromaZone.
In addition, education sessions, speakers and special location events are always part of program planning. Of course, one of the most important aspects is being able to network with the greatest number of people; all under one roof!
How much does it cost to register for a ChromaZone?
ChromaZone registration forms can be downloaded from the CMG web site or by contacting sgriffis@colormarketing.org. The registration form provides the registration cost for current, former, and Non CMG members.
Do I have to be a member of CMG to attend a ChromaZone?
No. ChromaZone events are open to current, former, and non CMG members. We are also inviting members of related professional organizations, education and media. You do not have to be a member of CMG to participate.
